Thursday, January 28, 2010 - This Morning at 07:26 Hrs. Sta. 51 was dispatched for an electrical hazard with wires down in the roadway in front of 1308 Taraila Rd. Soon after at 07:31 hrs. Engine 51-3 went responding with a crew of 7 under the command of Lt. Brian Lucas, while responding Kent center advised of wires laying on top of a school bus with occupants still in the bus. 51-3 arrived on scene at 07:35 hrs, Lt. Lucas advised a bus in a ditch had struck a pole and had wires laying on it with no occupants in it, LT. Lucas also established Taraila Rd Command. Command had the crew from 51-3 to check for electrified wires using the hot stick as well as secure the bus. Command had A-51 direct to the school to check on the two children were involved in the accident, A-51 cleared with no patients. Rescue 51-6 arrived soon after and staged on the roadway, Command then placed the situation under control awaiting the arrival of DSP. The last 51 unit to clear was at 08:01 hrs. 51 Fire Police remained on scene to assist DSP and the power company with traffic control. Units on scene: E51-3, R-516, A-51, 51 Fire Police, And DSP.
