It is the mission of the Hartly Vol. Fire Co. to provide Fire, Rescue, and EMS services to our community and neighboring communities through diligence and training. To preserve life and property as well as promote public safety through fire prevention and education programs. It is our goal to protect and serve, in your time of need, the safest and fastest ways possible with the upmost professionalism and respect. |

 In becoming a Firefighter you will learn the skills necessary to extinguish all types of fire and rescue downed victims inside burning buildings or entrapped in vehicles, trenches, or any number of confined spaces. You will find the skills and knowledge to help a complete stranger through possibly one of the darkest moments of their life. Most importantly, you will encounter a new found respect for yourself and others, and some may even obtain a new outlook on life. You will feel a gratification that many will never know, simply by giving up some of your time to help another.

By becoming a First Responder or EMT you will be exposed to the busy world of Emergency Medical Services (EMS). You will learn life saving techniques such as Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), the Heimlich maneuver, and use of the Automated External Defibrillator (AED). You will learn basic life support skills suck as immobilizing, splinting, bandaging, protecting an airway, and even skills to help deliver a baby.

If either does not appeal to you, we also have administrative positions in the company. We can always use assistance with public functions such as our train shows, breakfasts and dinners, open houses, fire prevention activities, etc. If you have a skill we have a position. Like secretary, finances, personnel, maintenance, and many more. There is something to do for everyone.There is also the option for ladies to join our Ladies Auxiliary and participate in dinners and other events.
