Mourning One of Our Own
Saturday, April 9, 2016

The Officers and Members of the Hartly Volunteer Fire Company regret to announce the passing of Past Chief and Past President Frank King. Frank, very well known throughout the state, passed early Saturday morning with his family by his side. J.K. Rowling said "It matters not what someone is born, but what they grow to be." Frank was a perfect example as he rose through the ranks within our company; then carried on to lead multiple organizations including the Kent County and Delaware Volunteer Firefighters Associations. He was awarded Kent County and State Firefighter of the Year; and inducted into both Hall of Fames. These are only a small glimpse into the extraordinary being that was Frank King. Please keep his family and our membership in your thoughts and prayers. He will be missed. Service announcements will be posted at a later date. "Say not in grief that he is no more, but live in thankfulness that he was." ~ Hebrew Proverb
