Commercial Vehicle Fire

In the early afternoon hours of September 28th, Hartly’s volunteers were dispatched for a commercial vehicle fire IAO of Sudlersville Road and Downs Chapel Road. While units were enroute, Kent Center advised that a POV member from Station 45 (Clayton) was on scene reporting an excavator with the engine compartment on fire. Once 51 units arrived on location, conditions were confirmed and the crews went to work extinguishing the fire and checking for extension to the trailer on which the excavator was secured to. Once the fire was extinguished, the scene was placed under control and turned over to DSP. Deputy Chief Read had the command.
